Bennie Duevall Clark Sr.

Bennie Duevall Clark Sr., 87, of Oil Trough, formally, of Newport departed this life on Monday, September 2, 2019, at Oil Trough. He was born on January 3, 1932, in Alicia, the son of Benjamin F. and Ester Parr Clark. On June 1, 1991, Ben retired from the Newport Rolling Mill as Mill Superintendent after 38 dedicated years. Ben enjoyed fishing and was a Korean War Veteran, serving 1951-1952, he received Combat Inf. Badge, U.N. Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and three Bronze Stars. Ben was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Sletta Billings Clark; daughter, Mary Clark McAfee; three brothers, Harlin Clark, Marlin "Dude" Clark and James Clark, three sisters, Reba Walker, Ella Shaver, and Metress Daniels, and parents. He leaves behind one son, Bennie D. Clark Jr. of Providence; daughters, Brenda Turner of Mountain Home and Sharon Beasley of Batesville; special friend and companion, Ms. Billie Barber of Oil Trough; three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
