Marty Eugene Polk

Marty Eugene Polk of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born March 17, 1962 at Marvell, Arkansas, the son of Vivian Anne Whitson Polk and the late Bobby Lee Polk. To say that Marty loved life, was a huge understatement. He lived every moment of his 57 years to the fullest, with his "Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much" personality. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sheridan, and was the Road Superintendent for Saline County. Among his many interests, music and sports topped the list. He had played bass in church, and also formerly with the Adrian Livingston Band, and was currently "Lead" Bass Player with Exit 123. He belonged to Arkansas High School Fast Pitch Association (AHSFPA), Arkansas Officials Association (AOA), for officiating football and softball. He leaves a rich legacy of good memories, of a great man. Marty died Friday, September 27, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, at the age of 57. Survivors include his wife, and best friend, Bridget Holiman Polk of Sheridan; mother, Anne Polk of Gainesville, Alabama; daughters, Holly (Chris) Sory of Bryant, Megan Polk of North Little Rock; step-daughter, Jaylynn (Blake) Hutson of Haskell; step-son, Drew (Caitlynn) Chitwood of Clearwater, Florida; brothers, Bill Polk of Green Forest, Vince Polk of Gainesville, Alabama; grandchildren, Isabel, Barrett, Cora, Jasper, Murray, Witten, Blakelynn and Cooper; mother-in-law, Edith Holiman of Benton. He is also survived by numerous other family members and countless numbers of friends. Pallbearers: Chris Sory, David Grappe, Doug West, Benny "BW" Higgs, Jeff Stroud, Brett Koder, Gene Boser, Bobby Crafford, Jerry Berry, Blake Hutson. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Sheridan, with Bro. Michael Daugherty officiating. Committal service will be at 3 P.M. at Forest Hills Cemetery, in Alexander, Arkansas. Visitation is also Tuesday, from 9:30 A.M. until service time at 11:30 A.M.
