TERRI HUTTON, age 71, died on April 20, 2020, from complications following a stroke. She is survived by her loving daughter Pam Irmen(Mike), three grandchildren, Caroline Jane, Samuel, and McKensie, and two sisters, Peggy Yoder (Bill) and Barb Justus (Joe). She is preceded in death by and joyfully reunited with her parents Robert and Jane Johnson, her husband of 39 years Richard Hutton, her son Patrick Hutton, and sister Pam Hyatt. Terri leaves quite a legacy to the state as she was an assistant professor at the UAMS/UALR in the Department of Communications Disorders for more than 20 years. As the director of the Clinic, she trained an entire generation of speech pathologists who are now faithfully serving the public as a result of her outstanding training and mentorship. Terri was twice elected president of the Arkansas Speech and Hearing Association and was awarded the coveted honor as an ASHA Fellow from the American Speech and Hearing Association. She was educated at St. Mary's College of Notre Dame, Marquette University, and Southern Methodist University. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Terri loved her family and was a constant and good friend to so many. She was one of those people who intentionally stayed in touch with so many of the people she met along her journey, even high school friends from her hometown of Ft. Atkinson, Wis. Terri was never happier than when she was hosting get-togethers for family and friends around her backyard pool while her husband Richard grilled his famous ribs. Memorials may be made to the Terri Hutton Educational Fund, UAMS Department of Communications Disorders, 4301 West Markham Street, Slot 619, Little Rock, Ark., 72205.
