It is with great sadness, but abundant hope in eternal life that the family of Jeffrey Breeden Doty shares the news of his passing on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Circle of Life Hospice after a long battle with cancer. Jeff was born on April 21,1963, in Russellville, Arkansas to Jack B. and Wanda Doty. He was preceded in death by his father Jack and his sister Marla. Jeff attended Ramay Jr. High School and Fayetteville High School, where he played basketball and participated in the choir. After attending the University of Arkansas, he married his loving wife of 34 years, Betty, on September 27, 1986. Betty and daughters, Hannah and Olivia, benefited from his love, encouragement, and witticisms, referred to by his friends as "Dotyisms," and from his huge love of 80s rock music. Jeff collected bourbons, was very talented at calming babies, and loved a good horse race. He enjoyed woodworking, and could be counted on to pitch in to help with any project. Jeff worked at Upchurch Electric for 31 years. He is survived by his wife, Betty Doty; daughters Hannah and Olivia; and his mother, Wanda Doty, all of Fayetteville; and brother, Gregg Doty of Houston; Uncle George Doty and Brad Doty of Conway. Jeff is also survived by Elmer and Jodie Reynolds, Jennifer Catlett, and nephew, Zachary Catlett. Out of concern for family and friends during the pandemic, a memorial service and celebration of Jeff's life will be held at a later date, with Reverend Don Carter officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Lewis, Lance Turner, Philip Talbert, Boyd Bonnell, Dewain McKee, and David "Smac" McConnell. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Rd., Springdale 72762, to whom the family is extremely grateful for their many acts of generosity, compassion, and kindness. "So let it be written, so let it be done." (A quote from Jeff's all-time favorite movie, The Ten Commandments.) To place an online tribute, visit www.nelsonberna.com
