SHIRLEY ANN BRANNON FORTNER was born February 9, 1935 in North Little Rock to John and Annie Wetzler Brannon. She left this life August 7, 2020 in her home at the age of 85. Shirley was a devoted Christian woman and member of Cedar Heights Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She worked as a paraprofessional at Oak Grove High School. Shirley was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed many hobbies such as quilting, cake decorating, crochet, and reading mystery novels. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, brother Otis Brannon, sister Geraldine Brannon Day, daughter Lorrie Ann Fortner, and granddaughter Sarah Fortner. She is survived by her husband of 66 years Wayne Fortner, son Rusty (Shelia) Fortner, daughter Cindy (Wayne) Barker, grandchildren Jeremy Fortner, Brad (Lauren) Patterson, Annie (Atticus) Franke, Elizabeth (Thomas) Jennings, Great-grandchildren Kaden and Avery Patterson, Kenzie, Paige, and Elliot Callan, and Logan, Heather, and Rhett Jennings. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 11th at Roller Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy BLVD. NLR. Graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 12th at Beryl Cemetery, Business Hwy 64 Vilonia, Ark. We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.
