WALTER J "BUDDY" MILES, JR, of North Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2020. He was born in Carlisle on October 22, 1937 to his parents Walter J Miles Sr and Beryl "Jerry" Lisenby Miles who both preceded him in death along with his sister Christine Faye Miles Williams. He leaves one sister Linda Sue Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Diana Mae Miles, and two sons, Walter J "WJ" Miles III and wife Lori; Scott F Miles and wife Pam; along with four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Buddy graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1956 and served eight years with the Arkansas Army National Guard. He went to work on September 16, 1959 with the North Little Rock Police Department as a patrolman. He was a patrolman, motorcycle officer and Detective Sergeant for a total of 23 years of service which ended in retirement in October 1982. He then made a second career with Pulaski County in the 5th Division Circuit Court as a Probation Officer/Court Bailiff and ended his service with Pulaski County Public Defender's Office as an Investigator. He retired for a second time in 2001 with 19 years with Pulaski County. He was dedicated to his country and his community in service to them. His constant companions Benji and Max will greatly miss him. Buddy was a longtime faithful member of Faith Baptist Church. He was a loving Christian and an inspiration to all that knew him. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund at 109 Tanglewood Drive, North Little Rock, Ark., 72117. Services will be held on August 17, 2020 at 2 p.m., at Rest Hills Cemetery at the Gazebo located on 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Ark., 72118.
