Ray Forsyth Medlock Sr.

Lieutenant Colonel Ray Forsyth Medlock, Sr., of North Little Rock, was welcomed home with the Lord, July 27, 2020. He was born on April 2, 1940, in North Little Rock, Ark., to Rayburn Forsythe Medlock and Hilda W. Rasnick Medlock. With a keen interest in electronics and communications and an eagerness to serve his country, Ray joined the Arkansas National Guard in 1956, serving over 30 years. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves and taught Army Signal Corps classes. Ray directed an adult education program in NLR for 9 years, retiring in 2007. Ray graduated North Little Rock High School, 1958; Harding University, 1969; University of Central Arkansas with a Master of Science in Education, 1990, and Education Specialist Degree, 1994. He's a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College. Ray was a devoted father and grandfather who loved God, church, and family. He was a faithful member of Windsong Church of Christ (Sixth and Izard) for over 40 years. He was an Eagle Scout and lifelong Amateur Radio Operator K5HAM. Ray is survived by his son, Ray F. Medlock, Jr. (and Laura) of Lenexa, Kan., and by his daughter Margaret Leigh Medlock Guthrie (and Bryan) of Olathe, Kan.; and grandchildren, Lauren Medlock, Matthew Medlock, Jonathan Medlock, Ethan Guthrie, and Ella Guthrie.
