Katherine "Kay" Tucker, 82, of Hot Springs Village was the brightest light to those who knew her. On December 19, 2020, she passed away after a brief battle with cancer. Kay was the oldest child to parents Edward and Edna Washburn and was born in Seminole, Okla., on January 26, 1938. She attended the University of Oklahoma, where she met her husband of 62 years, Dan, and was a proud member of Delta Gamma. Kay was an active member at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, P.E.O. and DAR. She was the epitome of "to know her is to love her". She made everyone feel like they were the most important person in the room. Kay loved to travel the world with her husband Dan, read her books, complete crossword puzzles, play bridge with friends, and nightly Jeopardy, but most of all she loved her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Laurie Diaz (Les) of Plano, Texas, and Dana Kleine (Joe) of Little Rock, Ark.; her five grandchildren, Caroline Diaz, Daniel Kleine (Morgan), Courtney Lambert (Mark), Mallory Kleine, William Kleine; great-grandchildren Danny and JoJo Kleine; a sister, Mary Vencl; and two brothers, Dr. Daniel Washburn and David Washburn. She left Earth with her daughters by her side but with the hope of looking forward to seeing Dan again. We know that Kay is smiling down on us, letting us know how joyous this Christmas is for her in her new heavenly home. A remembrance service will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 199 Barcelona Rd, Hot Springs Village, Ark. 71909, or the non-profit of your choice. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/chenal
