Dwight Harold Bennett, 67, of Saline County passed away on December 24, 2020, with loved ones by his side. He was born June 25, 1953, in Memphis, Tenn., to Dwight Wellington "Dub" Bennett and Evelyn Ruby Mae Bryan Bennett. He was raised in Joiner, Ark., and was part of the first graduating class of Rivercrest High School. Dwight was quite proud of his alma mater and helped to establish the Rivercrest Alumni Association. Dwight spent many years farming in Mississippi County. Dwight moved to Saline County to be near his beloved daughters. There, he became an active supporter of the community and an avid fan of the Bryant Hornets. He was proud to support his daughters in their various school activities through the years and continued to spend many Friday nights at Hornet Stadium with his family. Dwight is remembered for his kindness, love, and loyalty. He cherished his family and friends and never met a stranger. He trusted the Lord, showed love to his neighbor, and cared for the less fortunate. He hoped to be remembered as someone who did the best he could with what he had. He is survived by his children, Taylor Parsons (Timothy), Lauren Brewer (Brian), and Caitlin Bennett; his grandchildren, Savannah, Teagan, and Bennett Brewer and Jackson and James Parsons; his sisters, Mary Sue Lynch (Jim, deceased), Beverly Renner (Gene), and Patricia Handley (Bruce); his former spouse, Ann Clemmer; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Billy Bennett. Per Dwight's wishes, there will not be a funeral service. His immediate family will hold a private memorial in the coming days. There will also be a public memorial celebration in Wilson, Ark., on the weekend of his birthday in June 2021. Details for the memorial celebration will be shared via Facebook and local newspapers.
