Willie Taylor, 80, of Springdale, went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 15, 2020. He was born in Strawberry, Arkansas to Alexander and Oretha (Crabtree) Taylor on February 5, 1940. Willie was a multi-talented craftsman and owned Taylor's Custom Cabinets for over 50 years. He was always creating beautiful cabinets, furniture and toys for his family. His woodworking and drawings will be treasured possessions for years to come. He also enjoyed the great outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His grandkids remember the many four-wheeler rides he gave them. Many will remember him as a jokester and one who never met a stranger. He devoted his life to the Lord and served Cross Church Springdale for over 45 years. He loved music and would sing or whistle hymns all day. Willie was incredibly hard working and talented but his greatest accomplishment in life was marrying his childhood sweetheart, Joy Walling, who stayed by his side for 60 years. He is survived by his wife, Joy Beth (Walling) Taylor; their three children, Sheena Ober and husband Mike of Bentonville, Greg Taylor and wife Elaine, and Tim Taylor and wife Terry all of Springdale; twin sister, Willene Massey and husband Jim; one brother, Steve Taylor and wife Paula; eight grandchildren, Mandy Plummer and husband Chad, Grayson Taylor and wife Lindsey, Drake Taylor and wife Ashton, Bailey Moore, Micah Ober and wife Ashley, Drew Ober and wife Shelby, Christian Taylor, Blaire Taylor; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin at noon followed by a funeral at 1 p.m. Friday, February 21, at Cross Church Springdale. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery. Willie's grandsons will serve as bearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Cross Church, 1709 Johnson Rd., Springdale, Ark. 72762. Arrangements are with Heritage Funeral Home, online obituary and guestbook at heritageofnwa.com.
