Earl William Eddins, Jr., age 89, of Fayetteville passed from this life July 21, 2020, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born July 10, 1931, in Muskogee, Okla., to Earl and Katherine Fast Eddins. Earl started his education in Muskogee, Okla., and then graduated with a BA from Oklahoma State University. After that, he served as a Lieutenant in the US Air Force. His passion then led him to pursue a new career in hospital administration and graduated with a master's from Washington University in St. Louis. His career took him to Little Rock, Ark.; Scottsdale, Ariz.; Jackson, Miss.; and then ultimately completed at Washington Regional Medical Center (WRMC) in Fayetteville, Ark. He retired September, 1991. His Christian values influenced the work he did throughout his career, the community, and his church. Earl was a lifelong member of Wauhillau Outing Club where he loved to entertain, fish and share quality time with friends and family. Earl is survived by his wife, Phyllis; two sons, David Eddins and his wife Kim, and Brad Eddins and his wife, Elizabeth Foster; two granddaughters, Katherine Eddins and Elena Foster, and two brothers, John Martin Eddins and Joe Turner Eddins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert Fast Eddins. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, graveside services at Fayetteville National Cemetery, with United States Air Force Honors, will be limited to immediate family only.
