Vernon R. Shack, Jr.

Vernon R. Shack Jr., 66, of Little Rock, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2020. He was born January 2, 1954, in Little Rock, Ark. He is preceded in death by: parents, Vernon R. Shack Sr., and Joann Tinsley; brothers, Charles Shackerford and Mark Shack; he is survived by his wife, Edna Shack; stepmother, Dovie Shack; two daughters, Tangie Hill (Samarecus) and Dakeyta Walker (Curtis); brothers, Amos Gray (Carroll), Floyd Gray(Juliet) of New York, Dennis Shack (Francine) and Darryl Shack (Ella); sisters, Billie Tinsley, Charlotte Ball, Anita Robinson (Ricky) of Virginia, Veronica Stewart, Janet Shack, Tonya Watson, Frances Autry, Sarah Hendrix (Billy), Tenny Shack, Verna Shack of Texas; three grandchildren, Gerren Hill, Katie Jones and Kirsten Walker; one great-grandchild, Carter Barnes; special nieces, Cassandra Landers and Kendra Hampton; special friends, Stephanie Smith and Jacoby Paige; four aunts and one uncle; 19 nieces, 18 nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, July 27, 2020, 11 a.m., at Mosaic Temple Church, 6221 Colonel Glen Rd., Little Rock, Pastor Emmett McNeil officiating. Face Masks are required and social distancing must be observed. Interment will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, July 24, 2020, from 12 noon-5 p.m. at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 Chester St., LR (501) 372-1305.
