Virginia Lois Waire

Virginia Lois Waire passed away peacefully in Searcy, Ark., on March 14, 2020. She was born June 17, 1940, to Virgil and Marie Coffman Thurmond in Des Arc, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Paul D. Waire; her parents; her brothers: Granvil, Troy, Ernest, Glenn and infant brother, Lloyd, and sister, Ethel. She is survived by her children Ginger Price, Tonya (Billy) Tucker, Kevin (Sandy) DeVore of Beebe and Lyndia (Eddy) Morris of Mayflower, Ark. She is also survived by one brother Roy (Betty) Thurmond of Des Arc, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and good friends. Virginia operated her own business, Virginia's Hair Fashions, in Des Arc, before returning to college to complete a degree in special education. She began her teaching career at Newport and then taught special education at Riverview School District until her retirement. She spent many hours watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in sports, plays and other activities. She was always there for her family and friends, giving of her time or delicious meals/treats. After retirement she had the opportunity to travel with friends to Ireland, Italy, and many places in the U.S. Virginia was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Griffithville, later moving her membership to Union Valley Baptist Church in Beebe. Visitation will be held Tuesday night, March 17, from 6-8, and funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday March 18, at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy, Ark. Interment will be at White County Memorial Gardens in Searcy. Pallbearers are Marcus, Clint and Rustin Price, Daniel Byrd, Brian Mills, Eddie Morris, and Bradley Watkins.
