Billy Marvin Groves

Billy Marvin Groves, 86, of Rogers, passed away surrounded by his family May 21, 2020 in Fayetteville. He was born October 27, 1933 in Macedonia, Ark., the son of Archie and Bertha Foreman Groves. Billy graduated from Magnolia High School in 1951 and served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957. He graduated from UAMS College of Pharmacy in 1962 and was the owner of several retail pharmacies. He is preceded in death by one son, Alvin Groves. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy Jenkins Groves. Children of Alvin: Billy Ryan and wife Ashley, Sarah Grace, and their mother Carol Groves Ratcliff and husband David. A daughter, Anita McAllister and husband James of Pittsboro, N.C., step grandchildren Jennifer McAllister, Jim McAllister and wife Lisa (step great-grandchildren Chase and Katie Claire), and Meagan McAllister Carothers and husband Jason. A son Michael of Rogers, grandchildren Thomas, Taylor, Michelle and great-grandson Brody Griffin. A son Joseph and wife Marie of Rockwall, Texas, granddaughter Lauren. His sister Pat Hime of Austin, Texas; several nephews and nieces; and special friends Florence and Ed Moore of Las Vegas, Nev. Private family service will be held on May 22, 2020 at the National Cemetery, Fayetteville, Ark. A celebration of life service will be at a later date.
