Opal Marzee Owen Weatherford

Opal Marzee Owen Weatherford, 85 of Griffith Springs passed away Monday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. She was born May 8, 1935 in Griffith Springs to the late, W.A. Sr. and Dora Reynolds Owen. She retired as office manager for Medical Associates in Pine Bluff after many many years of service. She was also a member of the Griffith Springs Church of Christ. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Voy Edward Weatherford Sr.; a son, Voy Edward Weatherford Jr.; a brother, Gene Owen; and two sisters, Mauriece Owen Finley and Betty Aureli. Survivors include two sons, Kim Weatherford (Lawana), Dana Weatherford (Ann); and a brother, W.A. Owen Jr. (Ann), all of Griffith Springs. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, Michelle Ross (Jarrett), Amanda Bolen, Michael Weatherford, Chris Weatherford (Michelle), Ross Weatherford (Jessica), Olivia Lowdermilk (Kyle), Baylee Weatherford; and eight great-grandchildren, Sydnee Ross, Evan Ross, Gentry Bolen, Eliana Weatherford, Micah Weatherford, Titus Weatherford, Elijah Weatherford and Berklee Weatherford. Graveside services will be Wednesday, November 25th at 2 p.m. at New Owen Cemetery at Griffith Springs. There will be no formal visitation. Pallbearers will be Michael Weatherford, Chris Weatherford, Ross Weatherford, Evan Ross, Gary Owen, Bill Owen and Greg Aureli. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service, Star City.
