Charlotte Hurt Clark

Charlotte Hurt Clark, age 87, of Carlisle, passed away on October 11, 2020, in Sherwood, Ark. She was born in DeValls Bluff, Ark., on July 27, 1933, to the late James E. Hurt and Altie Evans Hurt. On September 22, 1950, Charlotte married the love of her life, Walter "Dub" Clark, who predeceased her in 2019. Together they had two children, Gary and Pam, and lived in DeValls Bluff and later Stuttgart. Charlotte was a bank teller and branch manager at Farmers & Merchants Bank in Stuttgart for many years. Charlotte was actively involved in the First United Methodist church of Stuttgart and later FUMC of North Little Rock and Carlisle United Methodist Church. Her greatest joys were her 7 granddaughters and 13 great-grandchildren. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her siblings, Dockey Hurt, Beatrice Hurt, Buster and Porter Hurt. She is survived by her children, Gary Clark (Patty) of West Memphis, Pamela Randolph (Sonny) of Carlisle; and six granddaughters, Shannon Nye (Scott) of Hedgesville, W. Va., Melody Wassell (David) of Sherwood, Dr. Jamie Pinto (Jeff) of Carlisle, Dr. Candice Dye (Daniel) of Birmingham, Ala., April Simmons (Eddy) of Carlisle and Jennie Stewart (Michael) of Little Rock. In addition, she is survived by the following great-grandchildren, Matthew and Mia Nye, Hunter and Ava Wassell, Ava, Easton and Ela Pinto, Annabelle and Caroline Dye, McKinley and Riley Simmons, and Jack and Clark Stewart. Due to the current pandemic, a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to FUMC of Stuttgart or Carlisle United Methodist Church.
