Euloise Eaton Bethea

Euloise Bethea, 99, died September 22, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Eula Eaton of Ashdown, Arkansas and her husband, Col. Ned R. Bethea. She is survived by one son, Robert Bethea; three grandchildren, Eric Bethea, Andrew Bethea and Robin Bethea; a special niece, Martha Ann Edwards; and three nephews, Paul D. Eaton, Jim Withem and Jack Withem. Euloise graduated from Ashdown High School, Kilgore Junior College and Henderson College with a degree in music. She married Ned R. Bethea and they spent 30 years in the military service. In each of their assignments, she continued to pursue music, studying at Heidelberg University in Germany, teaching private lessons in Cochabamba, Bolivia, South America and in Baltimore, Marylan, among other places, where she always contributed by singing in choirs, conducting, and playing piano as needed. They retired in Little Rock. She lived at Shepherd's Cove for the past few years where she continued playing the piano for the residents. Euloise was a member of several patriotic clubs, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Arkansas Pioneers. She was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church and the Butler Sunday School Class. Services will be held at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, preceded by visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be that afternoon at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, 4647 Pine Street in Arkadelphia. Covid-19 guidelines regarding wearing of masks and social distancing will be followed. Memorials may be made to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, 4823 Woodlawn Dr., Little Rock, AR 72205 or to a charity of one's choice.
