Alvis Eugene Norris, 90, of Judsonia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 27, 2020. He was born on September 29, 1929 in Iuka, MS to the late Homer and Jennie Norris. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Linda (Cooley); his parents; four sisters, Verneal Norris, Polly Aday, Neota Norris, and Montez Hopkins, and a grandson, Brad Norris. He is survived by his son, Carl Norris of Fort Smith, his daughter, Cherry Norris of Cabot, his grandson David Norris (Kayla) of Farmington, a niece Natalie Coker (Darrell) of Little Rock and many Christian brother and sisters. He will be deeply missed. Alvis was devoted husband and father who worked hard in his backhoe/dump truck construction business. He loved to fish and was an avid hunter of deer, quail, duck and squirrel for his entire life; he enjoyed raising a large vegetable garden, which he shared with many friends. For many years, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Bald Knob and later became an active member of Rocky Point Baptist Church in Judsonia. Visitation will be held on Wednesday Sept 30, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home of Bald Knob. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday Oct 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Tollison and his son Carl Norris officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob – Judsonia. www.powellfuneralhome.net
