Sarah Elizabeth Helms Hyatt of Perryville, Arkansas, age 86, died in the presence of her family on September 25, 2020, at Conway Regional Hospital. Sarah was born in Little Rock on February 10, 1934, to Hubert Warren Helms and Sarah McHenry Helms. She spent most of her childhood in Fordyce, before moving to North Little Rock. She graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1952 and Hendrix College in 1956. She taught physical education in the Pulaski County School District prior to moving to Perryville in 1960 where her husband, Dr. Benjamin Carroll Hyatt, Jr. practiced general medicine. Sarah loved tennis and was a fan throughout her life. She learned to play while growing up in Fordyce, was a member of the Hendrix tennis team and built a backyard tennis court where she played until her late 70s. Her favorite color was green and she enjoyed incorporating it into her home and style. She loved cats and never turned away a cat that needed a home. She enjoyed her bridge club and watching Razorback football and basketball. Sarah was active in the community in her younger days serving as president of the PTA, girl scout leader and county election poll worker. Sarah is survived by her husband of 60 years and three children, Carroll Hyatt (Dendy Collier) of Little Rock, Elizabeth Pollard (Alan) of Pine Bluff, and John Hyatt (Daphne) of Blue Bell, PA and four grandchildren (Claire Hyatt, David Pollard, Dean Hyatt and Lily Hyatt). Sarah is preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Warren and Bill. At this time there are no plans for a memorial service.
