Linda Faye McCown, 71, of Benton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 12, 2021. She was born in Glasgow, Ky., to Gordon and Mildred Pursly Chenault. Linda was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She was a surgical nurse for over 20 years, and poured her heart, soul, and all the knowledge she possessed, into caring for her patients. You could often find her in her flower gardens, traveling with her husband, or finding another piece of family history through her ancestry study. She loved the Lord and loved people. Her smile and welcoming nature made her easy to love and easy to call her a friend. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Chenault; husband, John McCown Sr.; sister, Lena Sadler; and a brother, David Chenault. Linda is survived by her son, John McCown and wife, Angela; daughters, Susan McCown, and Kimberly Deutscher and husband, David; grandchildren, Daren McCown, Dillion McCown and wife, Candace; Danyelle Stowe and husband, Dakota; Dalayna Sturm and husband, Justin; Blake Lockert, Talon Johnson, Kaley Rickard, Miranda Johnson, and Riley Allen; 10 great-grandchildren, her mother, Mildred Chenault; brother, Danny Chenault; and many other extended family members and friends.
