Troy Edwards, age 95, of Austin, Ark., passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at home. He was born in Scott, Ark., on November 3, 1925, to B.W. Edwards and Bessie Tull Edwards. He is preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister, Floy Lovell; sister, Mary Lou Cogbill; first wife of 60 years, Louise Snead Edwards; second wife of almost 10 years, Barbara Grimes Edwards. Mr. Edwards served in World War II in the Navy in the CASU14 (carrier aircraft service unit) repairing sheet metal on airplanes. After the war, he worked at Olin Fertilizer Plant in North Little Rock for 19 years, before becoming a postal carrier at Asher Station for 26 years. He loved playing golf, hunting, fishing, searching for and finding diamonds at Murfreesboro, playing cards, spending time with family, and was a lifetime Razorback fan. Mr. Edwards is survived by his children, Linda (Johnny) McDorman of Bryant, Tim (Kathy) Edwards, Sr. of Cabot, Debbie (Bo) Burnett of North Little Rock, Tommie (Bobby) Hoffman of Austin, Rodger (Sara) Grimes of Cabot, and Bill (Beverly) Grimes of Ward, Arkansas; also, by 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Billie Boyd and Shelia Edwards of California; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends that will miss him dearly. The family would like to personally thank Tommie and Bobby for taking such care and loving Dad. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 27, at New Horizon Baptist Church in Ward, with visitation from 10-11:00 prior to service. Burial will be in Butlerville Cemetery.
