Glendon Dwight Faulkner

Glendon Dwight Faulkner, 77 of Prairie Grove, Ark., entered Heaven's gates on January 1, 2021. Glen was born in Roxton, Ark., (Cobb Creek) on May 29, 1943. He retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department with 30 plus years of service having worked as a surveyor, inspector and maintenance supervisor. He served six years in the United States Army Reserves and was honorably discharged as staff sergeant E-6. He also worked with two northwest Arkansas engineering firms. He was a licensed realtor and an ordained Free Will Baptist minister who had preached over 4200 sermons, conducted over 600 funerals and performed over 350 weddings. Glen served as pastor of the New Sulphur Free Will Baptist church in Prairie Grove for 26.5 years, the Huntsville Free Will Baptist church for two years and the Harmony Baptist church in Huntsville for eight years. He was a contract chaplain at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville for 10 years and a chaplain with the Washington County Sheriff's Department for two years. He was chosen from the state of Arkansas to make the pilgrimage to the Holy Land along with forty-seven other ministers by the Knights Templar in 1996 and later personally led three other groups to the area. He served as an evangelist for several years preaching revivals and performing concerts first with the Faulkner Family, which included, among others, his mother Geneva and sister, Betty and for a while, his brother Gary, then later with the Glen Faulkner Singers, which included his son, Stephen. Glen is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Judy Rhea Howard Faulkner, daughter Angela Faulkner Haws and husband Karl Haws of Springdale, son Stephen Faulkner of Springdale and son Anthony Faulkner of Prairie Grove. Also granddaughters Karli Haws and Kacey Haws of Springdale. He will be missed by his sister Betty Gray and family and brother Gary Faulkner and family. He is preceded in death by his father Garland Faulkner, his mother Geneva Davis Faulkner and an infant brother Bobby. A private family funeral will be held with Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Pallbearers will be Stephen Faulkner, Anthony Faulkner, Karl Haws, Ronnie Deese, Stacy Luginbuel and JC Dobbs. Burial will be at the Huntsville Cemetery. There will be a period of honoring Glen at the Luginbuel Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 p.m. The family wishes to thank the devoted and heroic staff at Washington Regional Medical Center for caring for Glen and so many others.
