Born on December 23, 1937, to Joseph Robert and Helen Christine (Nagel) Hoyt of Adona, Arkansas, she was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Morrilton, Arkansas, and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Little Rock. Mary Ellen was formerly married to the late Richard Doyle Scroggin of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and together they raised two children. Mary Ellen, alongside five brothers and three sisters, was shaped by her Catholic upbringing and example set by her loving parents. She was an excellent cook and an avid gardener showcased by her beautiful roses. Mary Ellen was known for her spunk and always ready for a new adventure whether it be a shopping spree, a visit with her devoted family and friends or a Sunday drive to Petit Jean Mountain. She took a special delight in her pets, Momma Cat and Daisy, that shared her last days. Visits would find her sipping a cup of tea with one of her cats sitting on her lap. She is predeceased by her parents, spouse Bob Hill, sisters, Carolyn Ann Hoyt Winder, Victoria Susan Hoyt and brother, Joseph George Hoyt and infant brother, Jimmy Lewis Hoyt and was looking forward to being reunited with them in Heaven. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Deborah and Gary Osredker of Nixa, Missouri, a son, Dr. Richard Scroggin of Fort Myers, Florida, two stepdaughters, Marcy Fengler of Columbia, South Carolina and Cathy Finley of Perry, Arkansas and a granddaughter, Alexandria Osredker as well as a sister, Betty Jo Gottsponer of North Little Rock, brothers and their wives, Edd and Carol Hoyt of Cabot, Ray and Clarene Hoyt of Sherwood, and Ron Hoyt of Stuttgart, a sister-in-law Wilhelmina Scroggin of Sherwood and brother-in-law Bill Winder of Hot Springs.
