Gisela Margaret (Land) Neumann, born on March 22, 1935, in Berlin, Germany, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at 12:12 a.m. She is survived by her only child, Kimberly A. Land and her husband, Jacob W. Alvarez of West Fork, Ark. She has two stepchildren, Newton E. Land, III, his wife, Juanita Land of Mississippi, and Anita Johnson and her husband, Bob Johnson of Johnson, Ark; four grandchildren, Brittany Maier-Hunter, her husband, Chris J. Hunter of Bentonville, Ark., Wendy M. Pear of Rogers, Ark., Corey C. Land and Casey M. Alvarez of West Fork, Ark.; step-grandchildren, Bronwyn Land Planchard and Brigette Lehman both originally of Mississippi; great-grandchildren are from oldest to youngest, Emmalise Ann Hunter, Knox W. Hunter, Cooper J. Land and Alivia J. Hunter. Gisela came to the United States of America at age 23 and became a U.S. citizen which was her dream after experiencing war as a child in Berlin. She had her only child in 1966, at WRMC in Faytteville, Ark. Gisela had some beautiful talents. After suffering a stroke in 1999, she suddenly became an artist and painted portraits and landscapes and anything that captured her attention. She learned to sew clothes incredibly young, she also knitted and crocheted. Her last employment was working for Dr. Fincher and Dr. Hudson of the ENT Allergy Clinic in Fayetteville for over 20 years. Prior to this, she worked diligently at Bear Brand Hosiery for some time. When she came from Berlin at 23, her first and privileged job was working for the Askew's, a married couple, as their chef, who started the first shopping center in Fayetteville, called Evelyn Hills. All in all, Gisela (my mama), had a wonderful life amidst any challenges, she apparently overcame to live to nearly 86! She was a wonderful wife two times. She lived with her daughter and her family for the last year and a half, as her wishes and desires were fulfilled. Her daughter, Kimberly, was by her side the moments her last breaths were taken. For all who knew Gisela loved her. Her family cherishes beyond words, especially the last year and half, with her and hold on to it forever!! Anyone wanting to attend the memorial of Gisela's life, there will be a video/slideshow in remembrance of her. It will be held at Beard's Funeral Chapel, 855 S. Happy Hollow Rd, Fayetteville, Ark., 72701, Friday, January 22, 2021, from 5-7 p.m. Condolences at www.beardsfuneralchapel.com
