Betty Dicus Robins, 90, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and partner, of North Little Rock passed away January 23, 2021. She was born September 3, 1930, in North Little Rock to Leon E. Dicus and Virgie Rose Nethercutt. She attended the First Baptist Church until her marriage and then joined the Methodist Church with her husband, Richie. She graduated from North Little Rock Senior High School in 1948. After graduation she attended Draughon School of Business and worked at M.M. Cohn and L.B. Leigh Insurance Company. In 1952, she married Richie Robins. They met on the dance floor and continued to dance together for many years. They moved to El Dorado, Ark., in 1952, where her children Becki (1954) and Rich (1963) were born. They were members of the El Dorado Golf and Country Club where they met many longtime friends. She then became a fulltime mother and housewife. Betty was heavily involved in activities related to school, church and scouting. She enjoyed playing bridge and participating in many community projects. In 1970 she and Richie moved back to North Little Rock. She started playing golf in 1971 and this became one of her greatest enjoyments. She later served as President of the Ladies Golf Association at both the North Hills Country Club and the Greater Little Rock Golf Association. Betty and Richie played golf several times a week at the North Hills Country Club. They played in mixed tournaments around the state and were the first on the dance floor when the music started playing. She was interested in and attended all types of sporting events including the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. But her greatest interests were her family, grandchildren, church and seeing after her many elderly friends. To know her was to love her. Betty loved to travel. She and Richie played golf on all the Hawaiian Islands and made many trips to Florida, Las Vegas, France, Italy, Germany, Spain and other European countries. Betty is survived by her husband Richard Robins (Richie); daughter, Becki McIntosh (Lanny); son, Rich Robins (Jennifer); brother, Frank Dicus (Judy); sister-in-law, Fay Robins; granddaughters, Megan McIntosh (Guillermo), Sara Robins, Lucy Robins, Ellie Robins; great-grandson, Miles McIntosh Younger; and 16 nephews and nieces. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leon and Joe; sisters, Martha, Elizabeth, and Melba; and grandson, Richard E. Robins. Due to COVID restrictions, services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church, 1922 Topf Road, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116, and the Ronald McDonald House, 1501 W 10th Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72202.
