Dean Edgar Rodgers of North Little Rock, Ark., went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 22, 2021. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Rodgers and Lucy Bright Rodgers Crowe; his sister, Rosiland Ann Rodgers Banks; niece, Donna Banks Scroggins; and his bonus dad, Tom Crowe. Dean is survived by his three children, Heidi Lenoard (PK Lenoard) and son Jack Novak, Kristin Ward (Chopper) and children Kaytlynn, Sidney, Judah, and Zoe, Zach Rodgers (Jessica) and son Connor; and nephew, Mark Banks. Dean was the backbone of his family and his country having spent 42 years on the railroad as a conductor with Union Pacific. Prior to joining UP he graduated from Little Rock Technical High School and achieved the rank of E5 in the US Army while stationed in Korea. Dean enjoyed his retirement to the fullest. Spending countless hours with his children, grandchildren and many friends. He was always into fitness and known to run 100+ miles a week regardless of the weather. Dean was a great cook, an avid golfer and he could handicap the horses as Oaklawn Park with the best of them. He loved dancing to live music and seldom missed his favorite local band The Intruders. Deans devotion to his mother and his children was unsurpassed. He led by example, was always willing to lend a helping hand and never once uttered a negative word. He was a positive influence on everyone who met him and, through his actions, on many who never knew his name. Godspeed Dean, until we all meet again in glory.
