Louise S. Lagrone, 90, of White Hall, died Thursday, January 28, 2021, in Little Rock. She was born January 26, 1931, in Moscow, Ark., to James Hamilton Shepard and Cauda Mavis (Abernathy) Shepard. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Luther E. Lagrone; and siblings, Manley Shepard, Ethil McGraw, Virginia Tucker, Jim Shepard, and Bill Shepard. She is survived by two sons, Luther E. (Ricky) Lagrone and Robert P. (Bobby) Lagrone; her siblings, Connie Campbell-Oskaloosa Kan., Alice Erwin- White Hall, Ark., Carolyn Tomboli- Austin, Ark., and Jerry (Rusty) Shepard (Cindy)-Hurst, Texas; sisters-in-law, Jerry Shepard (Jim)-Dripping Springs, Texas, and Marcia Shepard (Bill)- Buffalo, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews and special friends who loved and cherished her. Over the course of her life, she had various vocations: working in sales at Kress, making ice cream and candy canes at OK Ice Cream Company, working at Reed's Drug Store, and finally worked as a hairdresser for 40+ years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, White Hall and was very active in Young at Heart, and Progressive Women's Association. Aunt Lou valued family, and it was important to her for her scattered-out family to continue to get together each year. Therefore, the annual Shepard reunion took place each year in the summer beginning in 1978. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Monroe officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.
