Martin McBride

Mr. Martin McBride, Jr., 96, of Pine Bluff, Ark., passed away July 15, 2021. He was born May 25, 1925, in the Ladd Community of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Martin McBride, Sr. and Mrs. Quilla (Shorter) McBride. Mr. Martin McBride accepted God as his savior at a young age and attended the Bethel A.M.E. Church in the Ladd Community of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He served in many offices of the church. He married the late Desta McBride in 1947, and shared the love of eleven children. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three siblings, a daughter, and two grandsons. Survivors include: ten children, Earl (Dianne) McBride, Julia Jackson, James (Ruth) McBride, Carolyn (Donald) Fisher of Indiana, Genett (Michael, Sr.) Scott, Maplean (Ivory) Donaldson, Otis McBride of Augusta, Georgia, Kenneth McBride, Barbara (Herb) Hall of Augusta, Georgia, and Clarence (Jennifer) McBride. Brother McBride and wife have thirty-five grands, eighty great-grands and four great-great-grands. He also has a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who also shared his love and respect. Family hour will be Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 5-6 p.m., at the P.K. Miller Mortuary. Private Funeral services will be held Friday, July 23, 2021, for his children, grandchildren, and invited guests only at Bethel A.M.E. Church with Pastor David Vaughn officiating. Interment will be in the Bethel Church Cemetery.
