Robert L. Thomas, Sr. 102, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away June 23, 2021. Do not grieve for him, for he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Evelyn and son, Robert, Jr. He was born June 9, 1919, in Little Rock, Ark., to Henry A. and Mary Louise (Saugey) Thomas. Robert graduated from Little Rock Senior High School. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. He served as an Army Air Corps pilot and flew with the Second Division Eight Air Force in WW II. Robert was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hot Springs. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn J. Thomas; son, Robert L. Thomas, Jr.; grandson, Robert K. Thomas; two brothers: Henry A. Thomas and John D. Thomas; sister, Mary Louise (Thomas) Brook; and his parents. He is survived by three grandchildren: Bradford Alan Thomas, Paige Murphy, and Rustine Neuberger; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Anna Margaret (Thomas) Cross; two nieces: Kathy Douglas and Jane Lyon. Bud and Evelyn were married for 65 happy years. A celebration of Robert's life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, at Caruth Hale Life Celebration Center, 2529 Airport Rd., Hot Springs, with Pastor David Wilson officiating.
