James Roland Howell

James Roland Howell, 80, of Alexander, died June 26, 2021, in Little Rock. He was born July 21, 1940, at Amity, Ark., to James Elbert Howell and Flora Lee Boyd Howell. His working career spanned 35 years, the last 27 being with banks in Little Rock. He was a member of the Mabelvale Church of Christ for 53 years and served as Treasurer for 25 years. One of the things that brought him great joy was visiting with family and friends and spoiling his granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Eddie Howell; brother, Bobby Howell; and sister, Renia Howell. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Howell; son, Michael Howell; granddaughter, Kayla Brown (Hunter); brothers, Junior Howell of Amity and George Howell (Debbie) of Glenwood; sisters, Wanda Keener (Ken) of Amity and Doris Donald (Doug) of Camas, Washington; sister-in-law, Nancy Howell of Hot Springs; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is Wednesday, June 30, from 5-7 p.m., at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., Little Rock.
