Philip Thomas Hankins of North Little Rock died peacefully at home on May 5, 2021, with family members at his side. Born on March 22, 1926, in Glendale, Ark., he graduated from Glendale HS and Arkansas A&M in Monticello. He married Ruth Adeline Collins (Palmyra, AR) in 1947. Phil and Ruth celebrated 70 years of marriage prior to her death in 2017. He is survived by his son, Daniel Collins Hankins. Two sons, Gary Alan Hankins and Tommie Harrison Hankins II, pre-deceased Phil. He is also survived by four granddaughters and six great-grandchildren. Phil had a remarkable career as a salesman, beginning with Lever Brothers and then serving over 43 years as a top salesman with Zep Mfg Corp. Phil led an extraordinary life: he was a WW II veteran, pilot, an avid hunter, excellent golfer, and outstanding fisherman. He developed countless friends along his life's journey and was especially fond of the many young, new friends in his neighborhood, where he lived for 59 years. Phil voluntarily donated his body to medical science as part of the Genesis Legacy Donor Program in Memphis, TN. Following a 6-12 month period at Genesis, a military memorial service will be held at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR.
