Stanley Allen Kelley

Stanley Allen "Stan" Kelley, 82, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Stan was born in Jonesboro and was a graduate of Batesville High School. He enlisted in the Arkansas National Guard and then served a full enlistment in the U.S. Navy. Stan owned Kelley's Restaurant in Newport from 1964-1973, and owned and operated Kelley's Restaurant in Wynne from 1973 until 2017 when he retired. His most enjoyable memories were of his loyal employees and customers. Stan was also involved in building and developing commercial property in Arkansas. Stan and wife Danna lived in Wynne, Hot Springs Village, and Heber Springs, before moving to Jonesboro last year. Stan was a member of Heber Springs Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, deer hunting and fishing. He was an enthusiastic Arkansas Razorback fan and enjoyed getting together weekly for some lively rounds of cards with his buddies. Stan was preceded in death by his parents: Jefferson Davis Kelley and Bertha Maude Ward Kelley, two sisters: Margaret Hanks and Dora Rushing, three brothers: Sammy Kelley, Jimmy Kelley, and Mike Kelley, and a grandson, Colby Starling. Survivors include his wife, Danna Kelley of the home; three children: Stacy Kelley of Fayetteville, Shannon Kelley and his wife Brenda of Wynne, and Amy Starling of Jonesboro; and six grandchildren: Brittney McCormack, Kelley Bryce Champion and his wife Bryce, Chandler Starling, Grayson Starling, Olivia Kelley and Emma Claire Kelley; and one great- grandchild, Layla Shea McCormack. Stan was not only a well respected business man, but a loving husband, father and grandfather. Visitation will be Friday, November 12, from 1-2:30 p.m., at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Graveside funeral services will follow at 3 p.m., in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Ray Dean Davis officiating. Pallbearers will be Kelley Bryce Champion, Chandler Starling, Grayson Starling, Jeff Andrews, Chris Campbell, Browne Matthews, and Steve Kelley.
