MARY GUSEWELLE, of Little Rock, was cured of cancer and reunited with her mother and grandparents on November 24, 2021. Mary Ann Gusewelle was born on December 6, 1967 in Irving, Texas, to Jerry and Mary Sue Gusewelle. Despite early developmental issues, she created a good, full life for herself. Her father worked for J. C. Penney's, and she lived and went to school in Irving, Texas, Wichita, Kan., and ultimately Little Rock, Ark., where she would remain the rest of her life. Mary attended high school at The Baptist Preparatory School at First Baptist Church in Little Rock, and went on to college at University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark. In 1992, she went to work at Kroger on Cantrell, and remained there for the next 29 years. Mary attended Westrock Baptist Church. Over the last couple of decades, she travelled extensively. She would take road trips with friends to visit historical sites, she would go on cruises, and she especially loved going to Disneyland. She collected Disney memorabilia, and was fascinated by the Royal Family. She also was a huge Elvis Presley fan. Mary was fascinated with her grandfather's WWII legacy and time in India, and contributed to a website about his experience aboard the HMT Rohna, which was sunk by a German guided missile, causing him to spend the night floating in the Mediterranean Sea. She also amassed a huge collection of photos of her family from decades back up to the present. She will be greatly missed by her family, her coworkers, and numerous customers, whom she got to know as a checker at Kroger, where she often wore festive headwear or antlers when checking out customers during the holidays. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, and is survived by her father, Jerry; and her brothers, Dennis and wife Laura, David and wife Angela, Tom and wife Dee; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, 18301 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock. Family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m., proceeding the service. Entombment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Please share your memories at: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/Chenal.
