Robert Owen Brown

Robert Owen Brown, 78, of Sherwood died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. The second son of Guy and Stella Brown, Robert was born on October 4, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wis. Robert began a 39-year career with the City of Little Rock, with an entry-level position, working hard to end his career as Plans Development Administrator. Throughout his career, he received many honors, including Employee of the Year for the City of Little Rock, and the respected "Polish the Rock" award (presented by the City Beautiful Commission), for outstanding dedication and service. Robert was a long-standing member and beloved Minister of the Philadelphia Church of God. Robert was first ordained a deacon, and later a minister in 1997. He served the Central Arkansas Congregation, and many others during his 24 years of service. Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley; his son, David Brown; his daughter, Alisa Morley (James); his brother, Guy Brown (Kathy); and his three grandsons, Tristan, Gavin, and Jameson Morley. A funeral service will be held Monday October 25th, 12 p.m., at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock.
