Frank Hayden Lambert, M.D. ,February 28, 1936 – September 12, 2021. Dr. Frank Hayden Lambert passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of September 12, 2021. He is survived by his brother Beverly Joel Lambert III of Little Rock, Ark.; son, Frank Hayden Lambert, Jr.; daughter, Elizabeth Lee Lambert Fox (Stinnett); and granddaughters, Amaranth Rose Hubner and Elizabeth Hayden Hubner of Nashville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Dee Lee Lambert (1940 – 2015); his younger brother, David Patterson Lambert (1939 – 2015); his father, Beverly Joel Lambert, Jr (1907 - 1994) and his mother, Rose Hayden Hess Lambert (1910 – 1940). Born in Memphis on Feb 28, 1936, and raised in Holly Grove, Ark., Dr. Lambert was All-State Guard in Football for the Holly Grove High School Panthers. He received his undergraduate degree in Pre-Med from Baylor University. His Doctor of Medicine and Masters Degree in Clinical Physiology were conferred by University of Tennessee School of Medicine in Memphis, Tenn., in 1962. He served his residency at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville and then served in the Navy Reserves as a Naval Surgeon in Charleston, S.C., at the height of the Vietnam War. After two years, he settled with his family in Nashville, Tenn., in 1971. In Nashville, Dr. Lambert served as a surgeon at the Donelson Clinic, and then opened a private practice at Donelson Hospital, where he later became Chief of Surgery. Additionally, he served as the team doctor for the McGavock High School football team for over a decade. He also taught Physiology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. You could often find Dr. Lambert sailing on Percy Priest Lake in the evenings, listening to jazz and admiring the night sky, while always serving as the most gracious host to family and friends. Among his other passions were hummingbirds and a lifelong devotion to the Arkansas Razorbacks (even though he did cross state lines to go to pre-Med at Baylor) A small private ceremony with family only will be held, with a public celebration of life taking place at a future date.
