On September 1, 2021, the Lord called his good and faithful servant, Donald Eugene Warrick, to his Heavenly home. Donald was born July 27, 1949 to Robert and Fay (Lovell) Warrick. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda (Baker) Warrick; and his stepdaughter, Shelley. Other survivors are his brothers, Colonel Paul Warrick and wife Elizabeth of Great Falls Mont., and George Warrick of Beebe, Ark.; sisters, Ina Henry and husband, Ricky, of Scott, Ark., and Janice Payne and husband, William, of Little Rock, Ark. He is also survived by much-loved nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews. Much-loved as well were his dogs, Hootie (lap dog) and Happy Dog (guardian of the grape vineyard). Donald graduated from North Little Rock High School and attended Arkansas Tech. He is retired from Duke Energy, and is a member of New Colony Baptist Church in Linden Texas. He loved all kinds of hunting, especially deer hunting, and fishing for whatever hit his bait. This included deep sea fishing. He enjoyed his large garden and grew some of the best tomatoes in these parts of Texas, which he freely shared with family and friends. He was a good cook and was known for his chicken and dumplings, Texas-sized cookies, and fruit cake. Donald delighted in discovering "Mom and Pop" restaurants that served good homemade food. He was often first in line to offer help to others with no questions asked and no strings attached. One of his favorite places was sitting in his swing in his side yard, under his big oak tree. Donald loved his Lord, his family, and his many friends. We, the family, ask that those he loved and those who loved him will take a moment to remember a special memory of him that brings joy to your heart and a smile to your face, and thank the Lord that you were able to call him friend. His request was that there be no formal service, and we are honoring his request. Memorial donations should be directed to: New Colony Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Fund, 3086 HWY 59N, Linden, Tex. 75563
