James "Buck" Edwin Collier

James "Buck" Edwin Collier, the youngest son of J.J. and Amy Bernice (Conley) Collier, was born on Sept. 16, 1929, in Richland Springs, Texas. He spent his childhood in Houston and moved to Batesville, Arkansas, as a teenager, where he graduated from high school. He served in the U.S. Army, 24th Field Artillery Battalion, during the Korean War. He was stationed in both Korea and Japan. Following his service, he pursued a career in finance with the CIT Group and then with Simmons First National Bank in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. At Simmons, he rose to the position of senior vice president. In 1984, he retired to Rogers where he finished his career at F&M Bank. While working in Enid, Oklahoma, he was married to Jo Ann Dark, with whom we would share a happy marriage for 52 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends and running his real estate business. He also served as an elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Will Frank Collier; and nephew, Stephen Collier. Buck is survived by his wife, Jo Ann of Rogers; sons, David Collier (Jan) and Michael Kevin Collier, both of Florida; daughter, Kimberly Jo Collier of Texas; grandsons, John David Collier (Jamie) and Alec Blackford (Caylin); granddaughters, Brittnee Collier and Alyssa Blackford; and two great-grandsons. His memorial service will be on April 6, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of Rogers, with Pastor Dr. Valerie Bell officiating. A private burial will be at a later date in New Home Cemetery in Nash, Oklahoma.
