Georgia Guthrie Hendrickson, age 97, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022, in Virginia Beach, Va. Georgia was born in Phillips County, Arkansas, was raised in the Helena, Arkansas area. She was the daughter of Effie Bernard Guthrie Wilson and Tilden L. Guthrie. She lived most of her adult life in Northern Virginia, near Washington, D.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer L. Hendrickson, and her three brothers, James Guthrie, Robert Guthrie and Charles (Buddy) Guthrie. She is survived by her children, Philip E. Hendrickson of Vienna, Va.; E. Christine Anderson (Craig Anderson), of Virginia Beach, Va.; and Ann E. Hendrickson (Bill Schmidle) of Hudson, Fla; grandchildren, Robert Gordon, Elizabeth Anderson, Rebecca Forbush, Jordan Hendrickson and Zoe Amen; great-grandchild, Alexandra Amen; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Georgia was active in the Vienna Women's Club, Cameron Parish Chapter of the DAR, Clan Guthrie U.S.A., Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Vienna, Virginia, and Southview Community Church in Herndon, Va. She loved music, watercolor painting, genealogy and history. She served as a volunteer at Sully Plantation and at Colvin Run Mill historic sites in Fairfax County, Virginia. The family would like to send a special thanks to the caregivers and staff at Arden Courts ProMedica Memory Care Community in Virginia Beach, Va. A graveside ceremony will be held at Little Rock National Cemetery, 2523 Springer Boulevard, Little Rock, Ark., 72206, on April 20, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice Foundation of America, https://hospicefoundation.org.
