Walter (Sonny) Glen Craig, 75, of Sulphur Springs, Ark., passed away on December 10, 2022, at Circle of Life Bentonville with family at his side following a battle with cancer. Sonny was born on January 30, 1947, to Leroy and Launa Craig in Sulphur Springs. He graduated from Gravette High School in 1965 and joined the workforce. He then answered the call for service and enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served from 1969 through 1971. Upon being honorably discharged from the Army, Sonny returned to Arkansas, where he remained throughout his life. Sonny had many jobs throughout the years such as machinist and truck driver, but his heart was in farming. Sonny could often be found on his front porch sipping coffee in the early mornings while watching his cows graze in the fields. As the day continued, he would often be working on his farm or in his shop restoring old tractors, cars, or trucks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Launa Craig; his sisters, Elrecia Hoffman and Gene Baker. He is survived by his wife, Becky Craig; daughter, April (Jason) Kelley; son, Kyle (Amanda) Trembly; daughter, Tracy Trembly; son, Shannon (Brenda) Trembly; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Johnson, Alexandra Kelley, Lilly Kauffeld and Reagan Trembly; grandsons, Trenton Trembly, Thomas (Ashley) Kelley, Kelton Trembly, Brayden Trembly and Benjamin Kelley; great-grandson, Lucas Kelley; brother, Wesley (Laura) Craig; and several other cherished family and friends. A visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where Sonny faithfully served for many years. Visitation will be from 10-11:30 a.m., with a lunch for the family to follow. The memorial service will then be at 1 p.m., followed by a graveside service. Donations may be sent to Circle of Life Hospice, 1201 NE Legacy Pkwy, Bentonville, Ark., 72712. Arrangements are under the direction of Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.
