Dorothy Oliger Burton

Dorothy Oliger Burton, 88, of Pine Bluff, was a loving mom who enjoyed serving her community with gatherings and cooking. She passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022. Mrs. Burton was born January 7, 1934, in Sherrill, daughter of Lee and Annie Orton Oliger. She was reared on a farm in Wright, Ark., and graduated from Plum Bayou High School in 1952. Mrs. Burton was the receptionist for the Medical Associates office near Jefferson Regional Medical Center for nearly 25 years. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Burton, whom she married June 6, 1952, in Pine Bluff; and five brothers, Victor Oliger, Charles Oliger, Don Oliger, Louis Oliger and Paul Oliger. Survivors include her son, Mike Burton (Barbara) of Little Rock; daughter, Lynn Daniel (Robin) of DeQueen; grandchildren, Hunter Daniel of Dallas, Texas, Page Dobbs (Ty) of Farmington; great-grandchildren, Aspen and Barrett Dobbs; brother, Herman Oliger (Sandra) of Cabot; and two sisters, Sally Brown of Perryville, and Ann Edwards of White Hall. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Mr. Clarence Fell officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until service time at Robinson's.
