Luther John "L.J." Sawyer

Mr. Luther John "L. J." Sawyer, resident of McCrory, Ark., departed this life on Sunday, December 11, 2022, from Unity Health-White County Medical Center of Searcy at the age of 93. He was born on August 2, 1929, in McClelland, Ark. Mr. Sawyer is preceded in death by one son, David Sawyer. Mr. Sawyer is survived by his wife of 69 years, Erleen Sawyer of the home; one son, John Davis Sawyer of Searcy; one daughter, Carla Sawyer Reeves and husband, Jere of Tumbling Shoals; one daughter-in-law, Mila Sawyer of Kansas City, Mo., six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, December 14th at the Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Melanie Tubbs, officiating. Interment will follow at the Augusta Memorial Park. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 14th beginning at 1 p.m., until service time.
