Dr. Frank Joseph Panettiere, Sr., age 88, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away on December 12, 2022 at the Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas due to complications from lymphoma. Frank was born on December 2, 1934 in Queens, New York to Dr. Vincent Joseph Panettiereand Frances Pauline Calabro Panettiere. He grew up in Jackson Heights, New York and graduated from Regis High School. He graduated from Fordham College (AB 1956) and NewYork Medical College (MD 1960). On June 11, 1960, he married Patricia Rosemary "Pat" Drosdeck in St. Margaret Mary Church, Albany, New York. Frank and Pat produced five children. Frank did a rotating Internship at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, New York (1960-1961), andhedid his medical residency and fellowship in the Air Force. He became a board-certified Internist, a board-certified Oncologist and a board eligible Hematologist. After 12 ½years, Frank left the active Air Force and continued in the Air Force Reserves and the Air National Guard until he retired with the rank of Colonel. He was on the Faculty of the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, and subsequently became Chief of Medical Oncology at the University of Arkansas Medical School in Little Rock. Then, after practicing as an Oncologist-Hematologist in Rogers, Arkansas, he retired in December 1997. He continued practicing part time, covering other Oncologist-Hematologists as a locum tenens physician. Frank Panettiere is survived by his wife, Patricia Panettiere of Rogers, Arkansas, five children(Frank Joseph Panettiere, Jr. of Houston, Texas; Mary Frances Panettiere Hansard of Norris, Tennessee; Susan Panettiere McKibben, of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Patricia Ann PanettiereThomas, of Boise, Idaho; and Elisabeth Joy Panettiere, of Guilford, Connecticut), their spouses, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, one brother (Vincent A. Panettiere, of Catharpin, Virginia) and his wife and children, and one sister (Theresa Frances Angelina Susan "Terry" Panettiere Carr, of Manassas, Virginia) and her husband and children. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and granddaughter (Elisabeth Rosemary Thomas). There will be a private, family memorial service later in Albany, New York. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humane Society for Animals, Inc. in Rogers, Arkansas. It is an organization that Frank and Pat have appreciated and supported for many years.
