Olin Artelia Hicks Jones

Treasured wife, mother, grandmother, and friend Olin Artelia Hicks Jones, "Artie" of Conway, Ark., went to be with our sweet Lord on December 13, 2022. Artie was born January 8, 1944, in Little Rock, Ark., to parents Olin and Minnie Hicks. Artie was preceded in death by her husband, Arch Jones Sr.; her daughter, Anne Jones; her daughter, Amy Jones; and her daughter-in-law, Candy Morgan Jones. Artie is survived by her sister, Penny Jones; her son, Dr. Arch Jones Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Dr. Deborah Dockens. She adored her grandchildren, Archie Jones, Caitlin Church, and Molly McCune and her great-grandchildren, Jones Ann and Candy Grace. Artie received her Bachelors and Masters degrees at the University of Arkansas. She pursued a life of service in K-12 education for over 30 years. Teaching, learning, and serving were her purpose. During her career, she was recognized and honored on many occasions, including being named as the Arkansas Outstanding Cooperating Teacher for her role in supporting and growing new teachers in the field of education. She carried this sacrificial and selfless love, service, and care for her family, friends, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Ark.
