RUTH ELLEN STOTT LOWRY, formerly of Jacksonville, Ark., passed away peacefully in Little Rock, Ark., at the age of 93 on December 4, 2022. She was born in St. Louis, Mo., on July 8, 1929, to Linnie and Robert Stott and was raised in Dupo, Ill. In addition to her parents, Ruth is predeceased by her husband of almost 67 years, A.J. "Larry" Lowry; infant twin daughters, Karen and Sharon Lowry; grandson, Justin Lowry; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Tete Stott, Lloyd and Connie Stott, and Marvin Stott; and her step-father, Henry Joshu.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Karen Lowry of Fayetteville, Ark.; daughter and son-in-law, Kerri and Richard Palmer of North Little Rock, Ark.; five grandsons, Joshua Lowry, Jared Lowry (Marcie Carelock), Matthew Palmer, Jonathan Palmer, and Andrew Wang; one great-granddaughter, Luna Lowry and sister-in-law, Lora Stott. She is also survived six nieces and nephews, and a host of friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.
Funeral Mass will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1722 N. Starr Drive, Fayetteville, Ark. 72701, followed by burial in Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. The family wishes memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice or to Arkansas Hospice. The family would like to thank the staff of Encore Nursing Facility and Arkansas Hospice for their unconditional love and devotion to mom's care. Mom never wanted for a thing while in their care; she was their "Sweet Ruth".
