Charles Charlie Anderson

Rev. Charlie Anderson "Charles" transitioned, December 15, 2022, to his heavenly home. Charlie was born to the Late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson Sr. October 31, 1940. He was baptized at First Baptist Church 26th and Gum, NLR, AR; a student of George Washington Carver Elementary and a 1959 graduate of Scipio A. Jones High School. He was encouraged to attend Auto Mechanic School in St. Louis, Mo., and later pursued Business Academia in NY and an Entrepreneur of several businesses including Rental Properties, Gas/Service Stations, and a Laundromat in NYC. The United States Army drafted him in 1963 and soon he married a loving, caring, wonderful young lady, Ernestine Thomas, and was united for 59 years. They were ecstatically thankful to become parents of (Christopher) after many years of marriage. Charlie became a Deacon and an Associate Minister of Providence Baptist Church (NYC) and after Ordination in 1979, became Pastor of Cosmopolitan Baptist Church (NYC) until 1982, and was called back to his home church as Pastor of Providence Baptist Church until his retirement, after 39 years. Rev. Charlie Anderson was notably actively involved with Scipio A. Jones High School's National Alumni Association as well as Chaplain of his '59 Alumni Class; presented Invocations and was Co-Master of Ceremonies at its' Bi-Annual National Alumni Reunion Banquets, Memorial Services, Scholarship Brunches and Fashion Shows whether in AR, AL, CA, OH, IL, or NV; Bestowed and Crowned The National Alumni King and Queen; and Renewed 50th Wedding Anniversary Vows. Rev. Charlie Anderson leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Ernestine Thomas Anderson, son, Christopher (Sakinyah), two grandchildren, Mekhi and Elijah(Fairfax, VA; brother, Johnnie Anderson, (NYC) sister, Susie Ballard-Ware (Norfolk, VA), nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends across the US.
