Juanita Searcy Battle

Juanita Searcy Battle, 96, formerly of Newport (Jackson County), Ark., passed away peacefully on Dec. 17, 2022, in her birthplace of Chicago, Illinois. Born on Nov. 16, 1926, to the late Ruth Searcy and Charles William McEwen, she was reared in Newport by the late Betha Burns. A woman of great faith, she accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and was a devoted member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Chicago, Illinois, where she was a well-respected Church Mother. Those left to cherish her life include her children: Elder Dr. Hayward (Mamie) Battle, Sr. of Little Rock, Reva Lee (Stanley) O'Connor of Lynnwood, Illinois, and Stephanie Rena Lake of Fridley, Minn.; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church,1109 S. State Street, Little Rock, Ark., Elder Dr. Hayward Battle, Sr., eulogist.
