Billy Earl Stanford, 77, of Shell Knob, Mo.; passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, at home. He was born Tuesday, October 2, 1945, at Hobbs, N. M., to Herschel Vaughn and Juanita Medora Hennington Stanford. Billy and Wanda Lou Randall married on August 5, 1967, at Stillwell, Okla. He retired from the United States Army after over 20 years of service and put his skills as a "jack of all trades" to use as a parts manager for Kubota and a maintenance man at Withrow Springs State Park. Billy Earl was a member of the American Legion and the Kingston Southern Baptist Church. He was never as happy as when he was on the lake fishing or entertaining family and friends with boat rides. Billy was always the first to lend a helping hand and took pride in maintaining the McCollough community boat dock and water well. He was a family man first and foremost and if he knew you, you were family to him. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Jimmy Vaughn Stanford. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Lou Stanford, of the home; and one brother and sister-in-law, Donnie and Linda Stanford of Waco, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory with Rick Lindsley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Billy's name may be made to the American Legion Post #230, PO Box 122, Kingston, Ark., 72742. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
