James "Jimmy" Louis Bryant, 78, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away February 9, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born December 21, 1943, in Lake Providence, La., to Roy Austin and Laura Marie (Porter) Bryant. Jimmy grew up in Hampton, Ark. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served in Japan during the Vietnam War as a radio control operator for 18 months. He retired from Great Lakes Chemical Corporation/Chemtura after 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Junction City, Ark. He was the head usher and was elected to as a Servant of the Lord. Jimmy was known by many for his beautiful prayers, his kind and giving heart, his love for Christ, and his love for his family. Jimmy's only wish is that he will be remembered for his love for Christ and that others will come to know Jesus as Lord. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ruthie Rogers; son, James "Bodie" Bryant; granddaughter, Lucy Bryant; brothers and sisters, William, James, Era, R.A., Mittie Jane, Charlie; Doris. Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years, Sandra Pollard Bryant; sons, Tommy Bryant (fiancé Dawn), Reid Bryant; daughter, Laura Marie Bryant, Gidget Dog; brother, Johnny "Pete" Bryant (Kathy); sisters, Carolyn "Kitten" Stringer, Helen Anderson; sister-in-Christ, Nell Cheatham; grandchildren, James Noah Bryant, Jamie Fae Bryant, Matilyn Bryant, MaKenzie Bryant, James Cory Bryant (Lynsey), Lauren Sues, Derek Bryant, Ethan Bryant, Cassie Bryant, Nissie Bryant, Sean Bryant; and four great-grandchildren.
