Lori Cochran, 64, passed on January 16, 2022. She was born Lori Lucille Mitchell on November 25, 1957 in Fayetteville, Ark. Her parents were Delphine Mitchell and James Mitchell. Lori attended Leverett Elementary School, Hillcrest Junior High, and graduated from Fayetteville High School and lived all of her life in Fayetteville. Her family was unprepared for this unexpected loss. Lori and her husband, Derrick, were always there for the family. Lori was a devoted mother and grandmother. Nothing was more important to her than her family. She cherished her son, daughter, and grandchildren, and was an active part of their lives. She was extremely proud of them all. Lori remained close with her three sisters throughout her life. Over the years, Lori and her family spent many happy times at Beaver Lake. In July 2021, they had a family reunion at the lake with over 40 relatives. She adored animals and her home always included well-loved dogs. Lori worked for Fayetteville Public Schools as a Food Service Tech for over 30 years. She most recently worked at Holt Middle School. Lori was a dear friend to her co-workers and is remembered fondly for her kindness by former students. She was known by the school children as "Miss Lori." She was looking forward to retirement later this year. Lori and her husband, Derrick, had just moved into a new home that they had renovated, and were planning weekly Sunday dinners with their family. Lori was kind, mild-mannered and soft spoken. Everyone who knew her loved her. She is survived by her husband, Derrek Cochran; her son, Micheal Heath and daughter-in-law Stephanie of Fayetteville; daughter, Shannon Heath of Fayetteville; sister, Merleen Mitchell Bradford of Tulsa; sister, Carolyn Hulsey of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Bristol, Camden, Cloie, Jaxon, Mikah, and Rodrick. She will also be missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Lori was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Mary Horton. A memorial for Lori will be held on Saturday, February 19, Holt Middle School, 2365 North Rupple Road, Fayetteville, at 10 a.m.
