Rupert O. Rogers, 84, of Fordyce, died Thursday, February 10, 2022, in Little Rock. He was born November 27, 1937 in Dallas County to the late Spyrus Lee and Lorece Kauffman Rogers. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Sisson Rogers; his son, Ronald Alan Rogers; and his brother, Rayford Rogers. Rupert was a 40-year employee of International Paper Company. He was a longtime active member of Prosperity Baptist Church and in the Fordyce community. He is survived by his son, Ric Rogers and his wife Angi Doughty-Rogers of Killen, Ala.; his daughter-in-law, Candace Brown Rogers of Fordyce; his brother, Randall O. Rogers of Tulip; two sisters: Sharon Strickland of Knoxville, Tenn., and Shirley Jones of Magnet Cove; four grandchildren: Blake and Kendyl Rogers of Killen, Ala., Ross Rogers and wife Samantha of Fordyce, and Ashlea Alexander and husband Michael of Fordyce; and one great-grandson, Benjamin Alexander of Fordyce. A visitation will be held Monday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Stoney Point Cemetery.
